Last updated: September 15, 2014I just realized there's no feature request/changelog/bug report/question/complaint thread for this site's software, so I thought I'd make one. Its hard for me to keep track of the things I do with this site, and I'm the one doing it all, so I thought it might be helpful to give you all the opportunity to see (or ask) exactly what we've done since this site opened. A lot of these things were already documented in the old meta board, in /glau/, and in various announcements and news posts, but most of that has been lost or buried. I'll be editing this post with new information, and the rest of the thread will remain mostly unedited to preserve the thought process behind the decisions we make.If you have a feature request, a bug to report, or a general question of this site's software don't hesitate to post here. What we're working on:Infinite PaginationOther various userscript featuresCustom CSSPNG and GIF thumbnailsPSGI/Plack rewriteMore flexible white space strippingTemplate cachingMultiple file uploadDNSBL and other spam protection improvements Comment too long. Don't know if anyone's noticed yet, but this site uses something called WakabaMark for formatting text. So far, nobody's used it intentionally, so I just though I'd draw some attention to it just in case.A brief tutorial is available here: http://wakaba.c3.cx/docs/docs.html#WakabaMark Administrator Replies: >>62 >>87 >>123

I haven't been able to use this software yet because of this problem.I followed the setup guide over at: >>795, but I still haven't fixed the problem. Can anyone help?
When? Administrator Replies: >>941 >>943
Never? Why would I?

>>942You can scrape the entire site with our JSON API. Only thing extra you'd get with a db dump are poster IPs and deletion passwords, which are things I'd strip anyways if I made a dump public

Its been like 3 days without spam... Anything change?
This script is great - got it up and running myself pretty easily. Everything is pretty much working already, except the catalog. It goes to the catalog page, but none of the posts are displayed. Can't find anything in any of the config or on Google. Any suggestions?
Per the install instructions the Abridged Setup Guide over at Github. The grammar is very confusing. Can someone rewrite those instructions a bit clearer. Or draw me a picture please. I'm having a bit of trouble getting a handle on directories and file placement. thanks. Administrator Replies: >>798
>>796I must've been half asleep when I wrote the original readme. Updated the repo with your corrected version.
so let me read this back the way I read it. For #1a. I have a Glaukaba root directory....say /Glaukabab. I have board directories....say /Glaukaba/board1c.All files go in root...../Glaukaba.d. now copy all those files from /Glaukaba to /Glaukaba/board1/e. now copy /Glaukaba/include to /Glaukaba/board1, so we have /Glaukaba/board1/includef. exclude globalconfig.pl & spam.txt which will reside back in the root directory ..../Glaukaba.I'm trying to break it down, so its not a compound-compound sentence. 1.Make a directory for each board.1a. copy all files into directory for each board.1b. copy /include into directory for each board1c. globalconfig.pl & spam.txt will stay in root directory for glaukaba files. these two files do not need to be in each board directory.
>>799Seems right to me.
In #2 of the install guide.I cannot find Glaukaba-JS and and glaukaba-extra.js to move into my /js directory. In my /js directory I have; catalog.js, glaukaba-admin.js, and jquery.jqote2.min.jsAlso a folder, /prettify which is full of various .js files. Where do I find these files?
So, I just started my own board using glaukaba and I was wondering how to access the management panel.
I cannot thank you enough. Any board I've ever had admin access to always had some kind of hidden link, I was going nuts trying to find it.
Long-time lurker/rare poster with a question? I haven't found a way to use my CSS scripts on the boards. The inline extension is perfectly fine; however, fifteen-plus years of CRT-viewing and horribly skewed eyesight makes me cringe when I can't view a webpage with a darker theme. Any hope or suggestions?Thank you for the imageboards, BTW. I've enjoyed these past few years. Administrator Replies: >>639
More themes to choose from and the ability to use your own CSS are two things I've been planning on for a while now. Since you asked their both at the top of my list now. I'll see if i can get started on one of the two today.
I've never been great with drawn out and long "thank you"'s and other kinds of heart felt messages, so I'm just going to say the obvious. Thank you all SO much for sticking with us for the last 2 years. Since last year, the site has pretty much turned from an amateur attempt at a better 4chan into a slightly less amateur attempt at a better 4chan. Anyways, everything that's happened throughout the last year was all thanks to you guys sticking around and giving me a reason to keep the site up. Hopefully we can make similar strides before our 3rd birthday.Once again, here's the post that started it all: https://archive.foolz.us/tv/thread/16033660/#16037280 Administrator Replies: >>630

>>616Out of curiosity, here's the updated link for the link in the OP:https://archived.moe/tv/thread/16033660/#16037280Unfortunately, it's the "super archive" which is still a terrible idea in my opinion and is also horribly ad-ridden at the time of this post.
Whilst looking through a box of paperwork the other day I found a small piece of paper with German writing on it.It took me a minute or two to figure out what it was but when I did, I thought I should post about it on here.A while back I was working near an Army Surplus store and got to talking to one of the guys who worked there and between us we tracked down some of these goggles.I did offer to sell some to folks on /tv/ but with it being /tv/ got mostly random abuse. Unfortunately I no longer have any but the info on the paper might help anyone who is looking for them. They're the exact model of goggles worn by Summer in Serenity, although they had some (slight) modifications done by the prop crew, so whist not entirely screen accurate they're extremely close.I hope this might be of help for any River cosplayers or anyone else who cares.... >>539Woah I have no idea why I'm so excited about this, but I am. How do you even track down something like this?
>>542Just visit army stores, call surplus webstores, etc.I was lucky that the guy had contacts in the business. Apparently (my German is terrible) the info on the paper is all part numbers, etc for the item. The paper came with the goggles in small sealed bag. This person's Flickr has some info too.http://www.flickr.com/photos/donsolo/195184670/
That's pretty cool. I remember the thread on /tv/. The sheet is just a collection of numbers that probably specify the model of the goggles. The word by word translation (which could also easily be guessed, I assume) of the actual words would be:"Schutzbrille, gewerblich" -> "Protective goggles/glasses, commercial" (probably specifying that these goggles are to be sold and not to be used by the military)Gasfeinstaubwasser: A collection of words that these goggles protect against. Gas (obvious), Feinstaub (respirable dust), wasser (water)"Bund" is short for Bundeswehr, the german army.
>>547Yeah, the words themselves are pretty simple, but the entire thing might enable an Army store, etc to be able to source this particular model.
It feels a bit weird making this thread as the owner of the site, but I was wondering if anyone felt that an Angel/Buffy thread (>>>/glau/3023) is too loosely related to Summer Glau. I personally feel that its okay, but I'd like to hear from a few others before I explicitly allow or deny it. If it matters, I'm also okay with some Warehouse 13 discussion in the Alpha's thread while they're both on the air, since one of them leads into the other (can't remember the order), but wouldn't be okay with a separate Warehouse 13 thread. Its probably a little hypocritical on my part, but I just feel that Buffy and Angel are a little more closely related to the board's subject matter than Warehouse 13 in some crazy, backwards, and biased way.Anyways, let me know what you think.
Sounds okay. There are only so many shows Summer took part in. It's good to have something to talk about. And the Alphas thread discusses the episodes of the show Summer does not appear in too.
So is this happening or what?
>>502The thread's there (>>>/glau/3023), but no one has anything to say, I guess. I guess everyone's a bit burnt out by the Help for the Holidays leak/Inside the Box trailer fiascos.
This is tripping me out.>2 glauchans>both blue by default>2 boards on this glauchan>2 major periods of downtimeCan anyone else think of a few more instances of 2 on this site? I'm in the mood to start a conspiracy theory. Administrator Replies: >>475
>>495Milkshakes featured episode-by-episode recaps of Firefly, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Dollhouse, Warehouse 13, and even V.Probably half of the chan's total posts were generated in those threads.
>>497Man, this site really missed out on the golden age. At least we have Alpha's to talk about, I guess.
>>497Huh, never took part in those. Sounds awesome actually. I missed out on the /tv/ Glauthreads that discussed TSCC too. I have bought shows on DVD rather than downloading them then, so I have been out of the mix and just discussed Summer Glau instead of the latest episode. It was pretty neat to finally watch them then and to notice all the things that I have previously only read about in the threads.
>>499I'm never going to get over not getting into those shows earlier. I remember seeing Dollhouse threads, and never really caring about them since I didn't watch the show, but the second I decided to sit down and get into all of it, the threads stopped, and any attempt to discuss the shows ended up turning into people posting troll images, cancelled jokes, and and talking about Mr. Eko.
>>500I don't really mind. I find that I enjoy shows the most when I watch them on my own. When I then go visit /tv/ to talk about the show it is usually talked to trash by some people who mistake having taste with hating everything. I am rewatching Firefly at the moment (for the 10th time probably) and actually experiencing the show makes me value just how awesome it is. The threads about it are always so repetitive and jaded.
I don't know if anyone actually cares about this, but in case you've gone into #glauchan on Rizon and wondered why its unregistered, its because I haven't bothered joining the room with the name its (it was, actually) registered under since sometime last year. I just got around to removing the link in the board's navigation bar(s), but I haven't gotten around to removing it from the front page for whatever reason. In any case, I just wanted to let everyone know that there is no official IRC channel for Glauchan, and there probably will never be one barring a huge spike in posters. In the event that the site is down (the only time an IRC channel would be useful for us) the best place to get info about the site would be looking at /r/SummerGlau, messaging me on Reddit (GlauchanGuy), or emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org (don't bother emailing until the site's down; chances are I'll put off setting it up until the very last minute) in that order.
